The Full Story
I was born and raised in Springfield, Virginia. Ever since I was a little girl I remember I always watching my mother from a far, put on her mascara. Once I was around 14, I started watching makeup tutorials on Youtube. I started practicing on myself from cut creases to cat eyeliner. The eyeliner was very hard for me, I remember I would always either make one much larger than the other one but that didn't stop me. In high school, I started doing my friend's makeup for school dances and graduation. I also started a cosmetology class where I learn to cut, style and color hair. Even though I graduated during the pandemic, I was not going to let it stop me from catching my dream.
That same summer after I graduated high school, I enrolled in a masters makeup class in New York City, where I attended the Makeup Academy of NYC by Nina MUA. I have now been living in Manhattan for two years and if I am not with a client, I am continuing to explore the city. You can also usually find me back in my hometown spending time with my family, especially with my niece and nephew.
Being a makeup artist to me does not feel like a job, it feels more like I am making friendships. One of my favorite parts as being a artist is seeing how my client on the chair sees the finish look. My main focus for all my clients is for them to feel more confident in their own skin which is why I mainly do soft glams and natural looks but I am always more than willing to do something fun and do some editorial. Thankfully to all the connections and friends I have made, I have been apart of New York Fashion Week, been published in magazines, done several weddings and been apart of very fun photoshoots.
